Winner's Tutorial--Leather Bows with Kiki

Today we have Kiki with us sharing how to make one of the darling details from her "Rags to Riches" look from last week.

I am so happy to be here today to show a quick DIY project. One of my favorite things to make when sewing are all of the accessories that make your outfit go from great to WOW! This tutorial will show you how to make a leather bow that I used 3 times in my "Rags to Riches" outfit last week.

To start out, you simply need:
leather (real or fake), sewing machine, hot glue, and THIS template.

Cut your pieces according to the picture. (note:you can make these any size you would like..this will make an approx. 4" bow and a 4 1/2" bottom..use these measurements to make bigger or smaller!)

Sew a 1/8"-1/4" border as shown.
Get your glue gun and glue the large rectangle ends together to make a circle, then lay flat and pinch (as shown) and glue both the front and the back. Get the larger piece, pinch as shown and glue front and back.

Now get your glue gun and place a small dab of glue on the bottom of the bow part and attach it to the larger piece on top. Add another dab of glue on the top and place the middle of the small piece on top..wrap it around and secure with more glue. YOU ARE DONE! Simple, right?

Now add it to an alligator clip, a large piece of leather to make a belt or a small one to make a bracelet! These are super simple and quick to make up..and perfect to make your outfits have that "WOW" factor!

Do you have a favorite go-to accessory that you use when dressing your child?

Great question!  What is your favorite children's go-to accesory?
(And thank you Kiki for that sweet tutorial!)
